It is that time of year again. Yes, the holiday season is upon us. Just a few office parties to attend and 2016 is around the corner.

In this issue we have look at some interesting holiday destinations in Botswana, Limpopo and KZN. Our medical focus is on the work done to restore sight as well as physiotherapy. This being the holiday season, many of us will spend more time in the sun, so on page 22 there is an article on how to combat the sun’s harmful rays. The carmaker Ferrari is in the limelight this issue with their new Ferrari 488 as the main focus in our motoring section.

We are also the little known but great holiday option of barge cruising the European waterways on page 18. Fashion gurus, Jorge Hasenbach and Jacques LaGrange bring us some great fashion tips and advice. Renowned photographer, Gunter Komnick, shares his impressions of Peru on page 54.

In this edition our medical focus is on diabetes with Villiers van der Walt’s article “Diabetes Survivor”.
New super cars for 2016 are on show in our motoring section. The road trip destination is one of my favourites, Namibia. We teamed up with Journeys Namibia to bring you a few of the wonderful destinations that Namibia has to offer. We also had a look at the Ivory trail and if you are, like us, in awe of these wonderful animals, you will find it worthwhile to visit Gondwana Game Reserve, Bukela Game Lodge and Machampane Wilderness Camp as well as the Addo Elephant Park.

The fashion contribution for men features fashion guru Jorge Hasenbach. Renowned photographer, Gunter Komnick shares his impressions of China and photography on page 56.

In this edition we have a look at cancer care in our medical section with Dr Juliana Ferreira’s interesting article on the subject. In our article entitled, “Hope and inspiration”, you will find the stories of three extraordinary cancer survivors and their triumph over adversity.
Our road trip took another route and has expanded to form our Drakensberg Experience section that starts on page 36. We were lucky enough to team-up with Chris Hearne who is so passionate about the Drakensberg that it is simply contagious.

Our outdoor correspondent took a look at scuba diving on page 24 and we also have contributions by fashion guru Jaques Lagrange and the world renowned photographer Gunter Komnick.
Tax advice can be found on page 64 with Niel Schoeman’s article “Clean bill of health with SARS?”

With the beginning of a new year most of us start thinking about those new year’s resolutions. After doing a quick office survey I found that most new year’s resolutions are very similar.
The six topics mentioned the most were: 1. Lose weight, 2. Eat heathy, 3. Become fit (Join a Gym), 4. Save money for Holiday/Car/Pay off debt, 5. Work harder on their careers and 6. Spending more quality time with family and friends.
